Naxatras & Puta Volcano

NAXATRAS

Naxatras is a hard psychedelic rock band from Greece. They play a warm psychedelia full of fat grooves, dreamy melodies, heavy riffs and trippy guitar solos all with the vintage touch of the 70’s.
They have been playing and developing their sound since 2012. In 2015, they recorded their first full-length album at Magnetic Fidelity with Jesus I. Agnew as their sound engineer, who contributed his in-depth knowledge of analog recording and the independent music industry. Only analog equipment was used in the recording/mixing/mastering stages of the album. All the songs in the record were performed entirely live during just one day. „Naxatras“, which was released in 2015, became one of the best selling releases of the genre and has received wide critical acclaim.
In 2016, they released their second full-length album „II“ as well as an EP, once more recorded fully analog and performed live. In 2017, they released the single „All the Stars Collide Into a Single Ray“ and recorded their third full-length album, using similar fully analog and live techniques.
Their third album „III“ was released in 2018 and the concert for its presentation was held in a sold-out venue in Athens and it was released as a live album in cooperation with the greek Metal Hammer magazine.
The band has developed a reputation for high-energy live performances, combining elements of psychedelic/progressive rock, stoner, funk, jazz and eastern music with a trippy video wall to accomplish full stimulation of the senses.

PUTA VOLCANO

Amidst the continuous and enjoyable struggle the survivor of an indie rock n‘ roll band has become, Puta Volcano are building up their legacy and fanbase, one gig, one album, one song at the time.

Being a significant cog in the acknowledged machine that Greek heavy rock is, they keep pushing forward what was set in motion back in 2012, when their debut EP was released. Athens, Greece had already established its importance as the birthplace of new and exciting sounds and that is exactly what the creation of the debut album The Sun was in the period between 2012 – 2015. A fresh and inspiring offering, from a band that had just started rolling. After a wave of positive reviews and encouraging word-of-mouth feedback, they hit the stages in the summer of 2015. A bunch of rumbling live shows took place, highlighted with a slot in that year’s Rockwave Festival in Athens, alongside The Black KeysThe Black Angels and 1000mods.

Rest is a luxury modern rock n‘ roll can’t afford, so the engine had to rev again and the Harmony Of Spheres album was already on the way. 2017 was the year that Puta Volcano planted their feet firmly to the ground and the mixture of Seattle grunge and sounds of the Californian desert came to be enhanced with an artistic quality and scent that set them apart and gave them a unique identity among the rest of the emerging bands.

What good is there for a solid album though, if you don’t take it on the road with you, right? The touring had to be taken to the next level and that was a brief description of how the next couple of years were for the band. Desertfest Athens, an EU tour through 5 countries and a triumphant sold out show at one of Athens‘ prime clubs, paved the way for one of their most important appearances on the stage of Release Athens Fest 2019, joining Fu Manchu and Alice In Chains.
